Cambodia has initiated the construction of the Funan Techo Canal with a grand ceremony.

Prime Minister announced the project's commencement, citing its alignment with the vision of ancestors from the Funan era, 2000 years ago, when canals facilitated international trade, including with India.

The prime minister highlighted the project's significance not just as infrastructure, but as a nationalistic endeavour, noting its unprecedented support from across the Kingdom, including some opposition party supporters.
