Italy and Thailand Strengthen Economic Ties at Bilateral Forum

The Italian-Thai Business Forum, held in Florence, Italy, gathered business leaders from 16 Thai companies and 13 Italian firms. This forum aims to strengthen economic cooperation as bilateral trade reached one dollar 5.06 billion in 2023. Upcoming visits between the prime ministers of both countries highlight the deepening partnership.
The Italian-Thai Business Forum (ITBF) was recently held for the ninth consecutive year in Florence, Italy, organized by the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Thai Board of Trade, and the Italian Embassy in Bangkok.

Prominent business leaders from 16 Thai companies and 13 Italian firms participated to bolster economic cooperation amid 156 years of diplomatic relations.

In 2023, bilateral trade amounted to one dollar 5.06 billion, over 190 billion baht.

Both Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni have engaged in strengthening economic ties, with a reciprocal visit planned by Meloni to Thailand in February 2025.

The forum served as a platform for executives to discuss potential collaborations in various industries including food, fashion, and furniture.

Notable attendees included H.E. Paolo Dionisi, Italian ambassador to Thailand, and H.E. Puttaporn Ewtoksan, Thai ambassador to Italy.
