A unique send-off marks the end of Jojie Samuel’s diplomatic service in Thailand
Malaysia's Ambassador to Thailand, Jojie Samuel, was honored with a vibrant tuk-tuk procession across Bangkok as a farewell for his notable diplomatic service.
Organized by the Defence Attache’s office at the Malaysian Embassy, the event celebrated Samuel’s contributions to Malaysia-Thailand relations.
A fleet of over 39 tuk-tuks departed from Samuel’s residence at Suan Phinit Tower, tracing a path through major landmarks like Mahanakhon Tower, Victory Monument, and Wat Arun.
Brigadier General Samsul Rizal Musa described it as a tribute to Samuel's connection to Thailand’s culture.
Over 92 participants, including embassy officials and the Malaysian community, joined the farewell theme 'Jasamu Dikenang'.
In his emotional address, Samuel expressed gratitude for the support received and highlighted the progress made in bilateral relations across trade, agriculture, security, and tourism.
He emphasized the enduring friendship between both nations, rooted in trust and shared prosperity.
Samuel leaves behind a legacy of strengthened Malaysia-Thailand ties, underscoring his dedication to regional cooperation and diplomacy.
