Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra delivered a keynote at the 'Go Thailand 2025: Women Run the World' event on February 3, 2025, marking the 45th anniversary of Thansettakij Newspaper.

Paetongtarn, who attended this year's World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, highlighted Thailand's role as the 'Kitchen of the World' and its potential to support global food security.

She discussed the country's capacity to deliver food supplies rapidly, especially to nations facing instability.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of technological innovation in agriculture, helping farmers adapt to climate change and increase exports.

Paetongtarn also proposed the development of man-made tourist attractions, such as entertainment complexes and wellness tourism, to stimulate Thailand’s GDP, which requires further expansion beyond existing tourist destinations.

In her remarks, she stressed the need for investment in future industries, such as semiconductors, and the focus on maintaining competitiveness through cost-effective and environmentally sustainable practices.

Paetongtarn emphasized Thailand’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050 and discussed the One District, One Scholarship policy to enhance human development.

Regarding labor and technological advancement, she revealed ongoing discussions with Google to support the development of Thailand’s IT workforce.

Additionally, the Prime Minister celebrated the country’s new same-sex marriage law, reflecting her commitment to gender equality, while highlighting the increasing role of women in the workforce.

She concluded by reinforcing the importance of empowering individuals through their abilities, rather than outward appearances, to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development.
