Expansion Plans in a Competitive Thai Coffee Landscape
Starbucks Thailand is set to expand its presence by opening 30 new stores annually, despite increased competition within the country's coffee market.
The company, led by Managing Director Nednapa Srisamai, sees potential in Thailand's market, even as consumers become cautious with spending due to high household debt, which was 16.3 trillion baht, or 89.8% of GDP, by mid-2024.
Currently, Starbucks plans to add five additional outlets, bringing their total to 522 by year-end, with a continuous growth strategy of 30 stores each year.
On October 29, 2024, Starbucks inaugurated its latest 'Starbucks Reserve' flagship location at One Bangkok, Thailand's largest 'Greener Store', adhering to rigorous environmental standards.
This new, sustainable store, designed to reflect Northern Thailand's coffee landscapes, also introduces a Condiment Bar promoting waste reduction.
The company aims to establish 20 Greener Stores in Thailand by the end of the year, underscoring its commitment to sustainability.
