Stricter Verification for Chinese Students with Foreign Degrees
Enhanced Review Process Introduced for 13 Foreign Institutions
Chinese students holding degrees from certain foreign institutions are now required to undergo a more stringent academic credential verification process, as per a notice from the Ministry of Education's accreditation center.
This action comes in response to anomalies reported in the certification of master's and doctoral degrees from 13 specific universities.
The enhanced review applies to degrees from four institutions in the Philippines, three in Thailand, four in Mongolia, and one each in Indonesia and Singapore.
As part of the increased scrutiny, the processing time for these certification applications has been extended to a minimum of 60 working days.
