In a government policy statement on Friday, Thai Commerce Minister Pichai Naripthaphan emphasized strengthening trade ties with major markets, specifically China and the United States.

He reaffirmed Thailand's neutral stance and aspirations for increased investment and opportunities.

Addressing concerns over Chinese goods, Pichai emphasized a positive outlook, highlighting last year's $126.3 billion trade volume between China and Thailand and the significant role of agricultural exports.

Given the tourism sector's robust performance, with over 22 million tourists generating nearly 1.06 trillion bahts (one dollar 31.8 billion), the minister underscored the vital economic link with China.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra expressed on social media the commitment to deepen Thailand’s relationship with China.

Experts like Sompop Manarungsan suggested resolving negative perceptions about Chinese investments to protect export and tourism sectors.

Narongsak Putthapornmongkol of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce also advocated for an objective view on bilateral trade, citing China's long-term support and mutual benefits.

The Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Zone's contribution of $3 billion in exports and 55,000 jobs underscores the shared prosperity from this cooperation.
