Thai King's Son Appointed Honorary Advisory Chairman of Lawyers Council of Thailand
The second-eldest son of the King of Thailand, Vacharaesorn Vivacharawongse, has been appointed as the honorary advisory chairman to the president of the Lawyers Council of Thailand.
The appointment lasts until 2025, and Vacharaesorn, a law graduate from George Washington University, was presented with the letter during a meeting at the council's headquarters in Bangkok.
Council executives and board members congratulated him on the appointment, and Vacharaesorn expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him.
Mr. Vacharaesorn, also known as "Than Aon," expressed his gratitude for being appointed as a legal advisor to the Legal Clinic Thailand (LCT) and pledged to use his expertise, physical and mental strengths, and commitment to fairness and equality in the field of justice.
LCT's director, Mr. Wichien, welcomed the appointment and expressed confidence in positive changes for the organization, which provides legal aid to the Thai people.
Mr. Vacharaesorn had previously visited Thailand in December to apply for an ID card, a passport, and open a bank account.
Mr. Vacharaesorn, a Thai national who lived abroad for 27 years, returned to Thailand for the first time last August, bringing joy to many Thais.
His younger brother, Dr. Chakriwat "Than Aong" Vivacharawongse, who is the third son of the Thai King, later joined him.
Mr. Vacharaesorn, who practised law in New York City and recently established VVV Group, a legal and business consulting firm in Bangkok, now serves as its chairman and senior partner.
