The Bangkok Food Bank opened its 50th centre in Saphan Sung district on September 10, 2024. City governor Chadchart Sittipun led the ceremony, marking the project's completion to establish a centre in each district of Bangkok.
Since October 2022, the project has provided over two million meals, equating to about 500,000 kilogrammes of food, to vulnerable populations.
The food bank collects surplus food and offers it in a mini-market format where recipients can choose their items.
The initiative aims to reduce food waste and ensure transparency for donors.
