Commerce Ministry Launches National Economic Recovery Project
The Commerce Ministry has launched a three-month nationwide economic recovery project from August 20 to November 20. The plan aims to reduce living costs by up to seven billion baht and stimulate the grassroots economy, in collaboration with government agencies to create job opportunities and increase income for local communities. This initiative includes designated sales points for farmers and a mobile grocery service to reach remote areas.
The Commerce Ministry has initiated a coordinated effort with government agencies to launch a three-month nationwide economic recovery project.
Beginning on August 20 and running until November 20, the plan aims to reduce living costs by up to seven billion baht.
Following discussions with Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai stated that the project, established at a mobile cabinet meeting in Ayutthaya, intends to stimulate the grassroots economy, which has been affected by the delay in the digital wallet scheme.
The plan includes designated sales points in city halls, tourist spots, Tong Chom markets, and Thong Fah mobile units, where farmers can sell their products without any costs.
The Public Health Ministry will also coordinate the promotion of agricultural and essential goods in remote areas through the mobile grocery service, poom puang trucks.
The initiative seeks to create jobs, increase income in local communities, and ensure that small businesses are not adversely affected.
