Chaiya Huaihongthong, chief of Khao Yai National Park, and relevant authorities have established inspection points equipped with sound meters for exhaust noise and speed measurement devices on Thanarat Road within the park in Pak Chong district, Nakhon Ratchasima.
The initiative aims to reduce PM 2.5 dust pollution, preserve the natural environment, and maintain clean air quality.
The noise limit is set at 95 decibels and the speed limit at 60 kilometres per hour.
Violations have led to fines for several vehicles.
These measures are part of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s standards to protect wildlife and visitors from disturbances.
Visitors are required to comply with regulations to ensure a clean and safe environment.
The park has also introduced the '4 Don'ts and 1 Do' campaign: don't drive fast, don't make loud noises, don't litter, don't feed the animals, and don’t bring pets into the park.
