Thailand has achieved a notable 13th place in the Speedtest Global Index for fixed broadband speeds, as reported for 2025. The country boasts an average fixed broadband download speed of 237.05 Mbps, reinforcing its standing as a region with robust internet infrastructure.
However, Thailand is facing challenges in mobile internet connectivity, where it ranks 39th globally with an average speed of 101.56 Mbps.
The global landscape reflects a higher average for fixed broadband download speeds at 97.61 Mbps, with corresponding upload speeds at 52.84 Mbps and latency measured at 9 milliseconds.
In the mobile internet sector, the global average for download speeds is 91.24 Mbps, with upload speeds standing at 13.47 Mbps and latency at 25 milliseconds.
Singapore retains its position as the top performer in fixed broadband speeds worldwide, achieving an average of 336.45 Mbps.
Following Singapore, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ranks second with an average of 310.05 Mbps, while Hong Kong comes in third at 305.71 Mbps.
In the mobile internet arena, the UAE leads with an impressive average speed of 545.94 Mbps.
Qatar and Kuwait also display strong performances, with average speeds of 521.51 Mbps and 314.39 Mbps, respectively.
This data underscores significant regional disparities in internet infrastructure and performance, which are critical for economic and social development.
