AirAsia's global IT outage last Friday delayed 200 flights, affecting approximately 40,000 passengers.
Thai AirAsia confirmed that despite the disruption, all scheduled flights were operated.
Tansita Akrarittipirom, head of commerce, stated that more than 500,000 travelers were carried on 3,000 flights since the outage was caused by a failed CrowdStrike system security update.
The airline had to switch to manual processing, causing delays over the weekend.
As of Tuesday, AirAsia's operations have returned to normal, although service recovery efforts continue for affected customers.
The manual processing required meticulous regulatory and immigration compliance to ensure safety and security, leading to long queues for individual verification.
