Thai Prime Minister to Host Indonesian President in Bangkok
Marking 75 years of diplomatic ties between Thailand and Indonesia, leaders to discuss security, economic cooperation, and regional integration
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra will welcome Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at Government House on Monday, marking his first official visit to Thailand.
The trip coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two ASEAN nations.
This will be the first visit by an Indonesian president to Thailand in 20 years.
The two leaders are expected to discuss a range of topics, including security cooperation and efforts to combat transboundary crime, economic cooperation, market access for agricultural and fishery products, tourism cooperation, and regional cooperation and ASEAN economic integration.
They will also establish a Halal Taskforce to coordinate halal markets in both countries.
The official itinerary includes an inspection of a guard of honour, bilateral talks under the Leaders’ Consultation mechanism, the signing of memorandums of understanding between agencies of both countries, and a joint press conference.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn will also host an official luncheon for President Prabowo.
