A new biodiesel called HVO is being tested under a collaboration between Tri Petch Isuzu Sales and PTT Plc.
HVO, a mixture of used vegetable oil and diesel fuel, emits 30% lower carbon dioxide compared to regular biodiesel.
Tests are being conducted on Isuzu ELF trucks used by Mon Transport Ltd, covering over 5,000 kilometers without issues.
The project supports Isuzu’s Multi-Pathways to Carbon Neutrality policy.
Isuzu Motor Japan also plans to produce electric vehicles by 2030, investing 1 trillion yen in R&D and establishing an EV development center by 2026.
