During the 'ASEAN ECONOMIC OUTLOOK 2025: THE RISE OF ASEAN, A RENEWING OPPORTUNITY' seminar, Paetongtarn Shinawatra outlined her vision for Thailand's economy leveraging ASEAN's potential.
Speaking at Nation Group's Krungthep Turakij event, she identified four strategic areas for the upcoming ASEAN summit in Laos: improving regional trade by easing regulations, positioning ASEAN as a global neutral zone for conflict resolution, developing a comprehensive logistics network, and tackling environmental issues collaboratively.
Highlighting Thailand's pivotal role in ASEAN's 3.6 trillion US dollar market, she noted Thailand's 67 million population as key to growth and emphasized the country's potential as a gateway for foreign investment.
At the recent 3rd Asia Cooperation Dialogue Summit in Doha, she noted interest from multinationals in Thailand's electric vehicle and data center sectors, promising expedited investment procedures.
Additionally, Paetongtarn underscored plans to strengthen Thailand and ASEAN's food industry as a pillar of global food security.
