Sukhothai Hospital Under Threat from Reservoir Overflow
In Sukhothai, officials are protecting a hospital from floods caused by an overflowing reservoir. The Thalay Luang project began discharging excess water on Monday, flooding nearby areas and affecting roads near Sukhothai Hospital. Emergency measures include sandbag barriers to prevent water from entering the hospital compound.
Officials in Sukhothai province have enacted emergency measures to protect Sukhothai Hospital from impending floods.
On Monday morning, the Thalay Luang reservoir, officially known as the Holy Heartland TalayLuang project, began overflowing due to excessive runoffs.
This resulted in water being discharged into the Mae Lamphan Canal and western tributaries of Sukhothai's Muang district, inundating nearby roads and partially encroaching the hospital compound.
