In 2023, exports reached 248,612.25 tons, showing a 20.8% increase from the previous year.
The export value climbed to US$502.24 million (17,192.32 million baht), marking a 25.6% rise.
The primary export destination was China, accounting for 93.73% of the market, followed by Vietnam, Hong Kong, South Korea, and the US.
In the first eight months of 2024, Thailand's mangosteen exports amounted to 247,274.83 tons, yielding $427.28 million (15,425 million baht), signifying 25.6% volume growth and 2.0% value growth year-on-year.
Despite Indonesia's increasing presence in the market, Thailand remains a key supplier to China, contributing 85.07% of China's mangosteen imports.
To maintain its dominance and mitigate risks associated with market concentration, Thailand is advised to uphold quality, improve production standards, and diversify its export markets.
