Pol Col Navin Teerawit, the city's police chief, outlined a comprehensive security plan to ensure a safe and smooth visit for the US personnel, stressing the importance of fair pricing and cooperation from local businesses.
Authorities are also advising businesses to report any suspicious activities to the emergency hotline.
The US Navy personnel will be in Pattaya until January 31, with four US Navy ships docked during this period for the break.
A recent meeting between the US Embassy’s deputy defense attaché and the commander of Provincial Police Region 2 discussed safety and traffic management in preparation for the large influx of visitors.
