Thailand has been recognized as a leader in online shopping according to the Digital 2025 report produced by creative agency We Are Social and consumer intelligence firm Meltwater.

The report shows that last year, 69.2 percent of Thai internet users preferred purchasing products and services online, surpassing the global average of 55.8 percent.

It also indicates that Thai citizens spend approximately five hours on mobile internet daily, ranking them fifth in the world, compared to an average usage of three hours and forty-six minutes.

In addition, Thailand's advertising spending was ranked first in Southeast Asia and among the top ten globally when measured against the country's gross domestic product.

The report, which compiles statistics, insights, and trends on digital transformation, also notes that at the start of twenty-twenty-five there are 5.78 billion mobile phone users worldwide, representing 70.5 percent of the global population, and 5.56 billion internet users, resulting in a penetration rate of 67.9 percent.

The primary motivation for adults to go online remains finding information, cited by 62.8 percent of users.
