Thailand to Boost Tourism and Sports with New Initiatives
Thailand's Tourism Authority, along with the Tourism and Sports Ministry, has launched the 'Thailand Grand Tourism and Sport Year 2025' initiative. This plan includes major events like the SEA Games and aims to attract private investments in tourism projects. Despite challenges such as currency volatility and global conflicts, Thailand expects to welcome 36.7 million foreign visitors this year.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), along with the Tourism and Sports Ministry, announced the 'Thailand Grand Tourism and Sport Year 2025' plan during a recent meeting with TAT executives and 74 international offices.
The initiative includes five main categories: grand festivities, privileges, celebrations, moments, and invitations, aiming to enhance Thailand's appeal as a top tourism destination.
Key events planned for next year include the SEA Games in Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla, the 50th anniversary of Thailand-China relations, and the inauguration of a TAT office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The government, led by Tourism and Sports Minister Sorawong Thienthong, aims to attract private investment in projects like Formula One races and entertainment complexes.
Challenges such as domestic flooding and regional conflicts could affect tourism, but TAT expects 36.7 million foreign arrivals this year.
They aim to promote cashless payments and expand visa exemptions to further boost tourism.
