President Trump Prolongs TikTok Sale Deadline by 75 Days
ByteDance has been given more time to complete the divestiture of its U.S. operations as negotiations continue.
President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that extends the deadline for ByteDance, the Chinese parent of TikTok, to sell off its U.S. operations by 75 days.
This decision postpones a possible ban on the widely used video-sharing app, which was originally scheduled to be implemented on April 5, 2025. The extension allows for more time to facilitate negotiations focused on reorganizing TikTok's U.S. business under new ownership.
