Amended decrees to make banks and telecom firms more responsible for fraud losses
Thailand is set to roll out new cybercrime laws before the Songkran holiday.
The updated rules will hold banks and telecom companies more responsible for refunding victims of online scams.
If losses are proven, victims could get their money back without going to court.
The laws also include tougher penalties for offenders and stricter requirements for digital asset transactions.
Final approval is expected soon, with immediate enforcement once published.
