ITA Airways Introduces Nonstop Flights from Bangkok to Rome
New Route Marks Italian Carrier's Entry into Thai Market
ITA Airways has launched its first direct flights connecting Bangkok with Rome Fiumicino, marking a significant entry into the Thai market for the Italian airline.
The new route, operated using the Airbus A330neo, offers five weekly flights.
The inaugural Rome to Bangkok flight, AZ 758, landed at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport on November 17, while the first return flight, AZ 759, departed the same day.
Celebrations included a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Bangkok Airport, and a launch event at Capella Hotel organized with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to introduce ITA Airways' offerings and highlight the winter season plans.
Chief Commercial Officer Emiliana Limosani emphasized this expansion as a milestone in ITA's intercontinental network and a step to enhance travel options.
Italian Ambassador Paolo Dionisi noted the route's potential to boost Italy-Thailand relations.
The Airbus A330neo, a 'pinnacle' in technology and design, features a spacious cabin with three classes: Business, Premium, and Economy.
ITA Airways operates an all-Airbus fleet focused on sustainability, with advanced aircraft reducing fuel usage and CO₂ emissions.
As part of its growth strategy, the airline plans to operate the Bangkok-Rome route during the 2025 Summer Season with three weekly flights, further enhancing its global connectivity.
Tickets can be purchased through the airline's website or other channels.
