Chinese National and Two Thais Face Charges in Nakhon Pathom
In Nakhon Pathom, a Chinese citizen and two Thai individuals were arrested for distributing counterfeit powdered milk.
On Tuesday, authorities confiscated 5,375 cans of fake Ensure Gold powdered milk and related equipment from two locations in Nakhon Chaisi district.
According to Pol Maj Gen Withaya Sriprasertparp of the Consumer Protection Police Division, a shop under a Chinese name sold 850-gram tins of the counterfeit product at 690 baht, while the genuine item sells for over 1,000 baht.
The arrested Chinese national was identified as Mr. Chen, while the Thai suspects were identified as Manop and Wiriya.
Ms. Wiriya admitted to being hired by another Chinese individual, Mr. Wang, to pack and ship the fraudulent products via a private courier service.
She received 16,000 baht monthly and claimed to have filled 100 to 200 orders daily for the past 15 days.
The trio face charges of selling counterfeit food and dealing in improperly labeled goods.
