Thai Government to Expand Land Rental Program in 2025
Over 3,900 Citizens to Benefit from Treasury Land Rentals for Housing and Agriculture
The Thai Treasury Department is set to expand its land rental initiative, known as the 'Thanarak Eua Ratsadon' (Treasury for the People) campaign, targeting at least 3,900 citizens across 13 provinces in 2025.
This initiative, announced by Deputy Finance Minister Paopoom Rojanasakul, aims to support housing and agricultural needs by renting unused government land.
In 2024, the campaign successfully rented out 11,587 rai (1,854 hectares) to 3,200 individuals, transforming land into homes for 1,530 people and plantations for 1,670 farmers.
By offering competitive rental fees and loan services, the program promotes careers in agriculture while supporting government efforts to strengthen the grassroots economy.
Planned provinces for the 2025 expansion include Nong Bua Lamphu, Nakhon Sawan, and Mukdahan, among others.
Rental costs begin at 0.25 baht per square wah per month for residential plots under 100sqm, and 30 baht per rai annually for agriculture plots under 50 rai, with prices subject to location and date annoucements.
Contracts can also be passed to heirs, ensuring long-term benefits for participating families.
