Thai Chamber of Commerce Encourages Firms to Boost Exports to China
New Zero-Import-Tariff Policy Opens Opportunities Amid Rising Competition
The Thai Chamber of Commerce in China (TCCC) has advised Thai exporters to prepare for increased competition in China due to a new zero-import-tariff policy implemented on December 1st.
TCCC vice-president, Paichit Wiboonthanasarn, highlighted that this policy aims to counter US tariff increases and elevate China’s global economic influence.
Despite currently benefiting from the China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement, Thai exporters face both challenges and opportunities with the zero tariff.
Paichit emphasized the need for Thai businesses to enhance their market understanding and brand registration for exports to China.
He also suggested government support in funding marketing campaigns to expand the presence of Thai products in China as its economy recovers and consumer purchasing power grows.
