Thai Technician Wins Three Awards at International Ophthalmic Photography Contest
Niphan Yodmanee Honored at American Academy of Ophthalmology Event
Niphan Yodmanee, an audio visual and ophthalmic tool technician from Mettapracharak Hospital in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, secured three prestigious awards at the Ophthalmic Photographers’ Society's 55th Annual Education Programme in the United States.
The event took place during the American Academy of Ophthalmology's (AAO) international conference from October 18-20 in Chicago.
The awards were announced by Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin, Director-General of the Department of Medical Services.
Yodmanee's winning entries included a 1st prize in the Indocyanine Green Angiography category for 'Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada Disease', a 2nd prize in the Optical Coherence Tomography category for another depiction of 'Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada Disease', and a 3rd prize in the Composite category for 'Neuroretinitis'.
Mettapracharak Hospital, renowned for its specialised ophthalmology services, also runs a training programme that has graduated over 200 ophthalmic technicians.
