Thailand Hosts ANTEX Asia 2024, Spotlighting Nonwoven Industry Growth
Thailand is focusing on growing its nonwoven industry with ANTEX Asia 2024, an event set from November 13-15 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre. The nonwoven market, valued at 50.33 billion dollars in 2023, is expected to grow significantly, benefiting Thailand's GDP. The expo, featuring over 100 exhibitors, aims to position Thailand as a sustainable production hub in Southeast Asia.
The nonwoven industry is emerging as a significant growth area for Thailand, with global demand projected to rise 8% annually.
This growth is expected to positively impact Thailand's GDP. ANTEX Asia 2024, taking place from November 13-15 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), will highlight Thailand's role in advancing sustainable nonwoven technology.
The global nonwoven fabric market was valued at 50.33 billion dollars in 2023 and is anticipated to grow to 148.387 billion dollars by 2036.
Thailand commands a 48% share of the Southeast Asian nonwovens market, producing 162,000 tonnes annually.
Dr. Chanchai Sirikasemlert, Executive Director of Thailand Textile Institute, emphasized promoting trade and investment, aiming to establish Thailand as a key production hub.
Nonwoven fabrics, made from bonded fibers through diverse processes, are crucial in medical, hygiene, and automotive industries, said Niwat Lersnimitthum, Chairman of the Thai Nonwoven Fabrics Industry Trade Association.
The expo will host over 100 exhibitors showcasing technologies and innovations, fostering international collaboration.
Industry players like Teijin and Optima will participate.
Dr. Duangdet Yuaykwamdee of TCEB and Grace Mak of MGT Expo plan to use this platform to highlight Thailand's strategic importance in the nonwoven sector.
