Thailand's First Data-Visually Enhanced Scam Prevention Initiative
Gogolook Thailand and VML Thailand have launched 'Scammer Pages', a pioneering data-visualized directory in Thailand cataloging over 1.5 million local scam phone numbers.
This collaboration aims to arm Thai citizens against increasing scam calls, drawing inspiration from the traditional Yellow Pages format.
Monprapa Rattanakanokporn, Gogolook’s country marketing lead, emphasized the campaign's role in promoting public awareness with the slogan 'If you can't avoid them all, download Whoscall'.
Whoscall, boasting over 100 million downloads globally, provides comprehensive scam protection via AI-driven features and partnerships like ScamAdviser.
Park Wannasiri, VML Thailand’s chief creative officer, explained that by visually presenting scam statistics, the initiative aims to emphasize everyone’s vulnerability to such scams and the importance of vigilance.
Recent Royal Thai Police data indicates that between March 2022 and July 2024, 612,603 online scam cases resulted in over 69.1 billion baht in financial losses, with women and the age group of 30-44 being the most affected.
