Authorities have issued a storm warning for most parts of Thailand this week, effective until Thursday.
The warning includes thunderstorms and high winds across all provinces in the North, Northeast, Central Plain, including Bangkok, and the southern province of Chumphon.
Chaiwat Jultirapong, director-general of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, has instructed provincial units to prepare for the potential weather impact, following reports from the Meteorological Department.
High-pressure systems from China and a prevailing monsoon trough are the primary causes of this weather pattern.
Flooding has already impacted 17 provinces, mostly in the North and Northeast, affecting about 40,000 families.
