Thai Government Revenue Surpasses Target in Early Fiscal 2025

Thailand’s official data indicate that overall government revenue collection in the first four months of the 2025 fiscal year reached 826 billion baht, surpassing the original target by 1.3%.
Records show that 646 billion baht was collected over the period from October 2024 to January 2025, with a rise in value-added tax contributing to the above-target outcome due to increasing domestic consumption.
Information from government agencies shows that excise-related revenue stood at 173 billion baht, about 1.4% below the target, while customs collection totaled 38.8 billion baht, around 6.8% under projections.
Higher-than-anticipated overall revenue was partly attributed to delayed payments from the previous fiscal year, which resulted in additional inflows during this period.
From October 2024 to January 2025, state enterprises contributed 59.7 billion baht, exceeding targets by 40%, while other smaller agencies collectively added 65.8 billion baht, surpassing projections by 12.6%.
Official statements project an average GDP growth of 3% for the current year, within a range of 2.5% to 3.5%.
Private consumption is forecast to expand by 3.3%, supported by government stimulus measures and higher agricultural incomes.
Estimates indicate that exports could grow by 4.4% following improvements in key global markets.
