Thailand to Conduct Emergency Alert System Tests via Cell Broadcast
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation announces test dates for its emergency alert system, set to take place in May 2025 across various locations
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation has announced that it will conduct tests of its emergency alert system via Cell Broadcast next month.
The tests are scheduled to occur on three different levels: small, medium, and large, taking place on May 2, 7, and 13, 2025, respectively.
All tests will commence at 1:00 PM.On May 2, a small-scale test will be conducted indoors in five locations: Chiang Rai Provincial Hall, Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Hall, Suphan Buri Provincial Hall, Songkhla Provincial Hall, and the Government Complex, Buildings A & B, in Bangkok.
A medium-scale test at the district level is set for May 7 in Mueang District, Lampang Province; Mueang District, Nakhon Sawan Province; Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province; Mueang District, Surat Thani Province; and Din Daeng District, Bangkok.A large-scale test, province-wide, will take place on May 13 in five provinces: Chiang Mai, Udon Thani, Ayutthaya, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Bangkok.
Residents in the selected test areas can expect to receive a test alert on their mobile phones, which will include both sound and on-screen message notifications.
