Project Launches to Improve Accessibility in Thailand
The 'CITY OF KINDNESS' project in Thailand aims to improve accessibility for those in need in public spaces, involving multiple ministries and organizations. Supported by 'MUANG JAIDEE,' a platform for sharing accessibility information, the initiative focuses on inclusivity. Key ministries and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration are all deeply involved to ensure success.
The 'CITY OF KINDNESS' project, coordinated by five ministries, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and the United Nations Population Fund, is focusing on improving accessibility for people with disabilities, the elderly, and others needing support in public spaces.
Supported by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, the initiative features the 'MUANG JAIDEE' platform, where users can share details about accessible facilities such as ramps, restrooms, and transport options via a Line chatbot (@jaideecity).
Wasan Pattara-atikom from the National Science and Technology Development Agency highlighted inclusivity and the valuable insights from Bangkok's disabled community.
The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Public Health, along with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, all contribute to ensuring the project's success.
