Thailand Maintains Commitment to Cloud-First Policy
Thailand's Digital Economy and Society Ministry will continue its cloud-first policy with a significant budget increase for 2025. The policy is part of Thailand's 'Ignite Vision', aiming to enhance the country's digital infrastructure. Huawei also confirmed its commitment to Thailand with ongoing investments and new AI solutions.
Thailand's caretaker Digital Economy and Society (DES) Ministry has confirmed the continuation of its cloud-first policy despite a recent political shift.
The fiscal 2025 budget for state agencies' cloud services procurement has been significantly increased to one billion baht from 200 million baht in 2024.
This announcement was made by DES Minister Prasert Jantararungtong at the Huawei Cloud Summit Thailand 2024.
The cloud-first policy is a key pillar of Thailand's 'Ignite Vision,' which aims to position the country as a regional digital economy hub.
Additionally, the DES Ministry plans to amend cloud procurement regulations and establish a cloud management platform by next year.
Huawei, a major player in Thailand's cloud market, has reaffirmed its commitment to the country with substantial investments and the introduction of advanced AI solutions.
