Gulf Edge and Google Cloud Forge Strategic AI Infrastructure Partnership in Thailand
Thai digital infrastructure unit signs expanded agreement with Google to accelerate sovereign AI and cloud services for enterprise and government use
Thailand’s Gulf Edge Company Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with Google Cloud to gain access to advanced artificial intelligence infrastructure and accelerate the nation’s digital transformation.
Under the agreement, Gulf Edge will leverage Google Cloud’s AI stack, including enterprise-grade tools and Google Distributed Cloud solutions, to support AI-enabled services and digital platforms across Gulf Group’s businesses, including its telecommunications arm and other affiliates.
The collaboration expands earlier cooperation on sovereign cloud services and aligns with Thailand’s data residency, security, and privacy requirements.
Gulf Edge will operate Google Distributed Cloud as a managed provider, enabling deployments within Thailand that allow organisations to retain full control over sensitive data while accessing advanced AI capabilities.
The partnership is designed to support machine learning, generative AI applications, and analytics for sectors such as energy, healthcare, telecommunications, and public services.
The agreement follows Google Cloud’s recent launch of its first cloud region in Bangkok, part of a broader investment aimed at strengthening Thailand’s digital infrastructure.
Executives from both companies described the partnership as a milestone that will help develop local digital talent, support enterprise innovation, and reinforce Thailand’s position as a regional hub for secure, AI-driven technology solutions.
