Artificial intelligence (AI) is set to transform every sector and job, according to BitKub CEO Jirayut Supsrisopa.
Speaking at a Krungthep Turakij event, Jirayut highlighted that AI will necessitate new skills while phasing out older ones.
He pointed out that AI, through tools like ChatGPT or Co-pilot, will automate traditional roles, affecting not only basic tasks such as data entry but also complex ones like business consulting and analysis.
Watson Peerapattarapong, Amazon Web Services' Thailand manager, mentioned the trend towards cloud computing, which reduces the need for heavy investment in computer systems, benefitting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
This shift is expected to level the playing field across businesses of all sizes, with AI and web3 technologies propelling growth and integration into various business aspects, as stated by Phawut Pongpittayaphanu. He noted that departments like accounting could significantly benefit from robotic process automation (RPA).
SMEs are encouraged to adopt AI by building, buying, or borrowing technology, suggested RISE founder Supachai Pajiyanont. However, the widespread adoption of AI raises concerns about privacy, ethics, and employment due to the extensive use of data.
In Thailand, companies such as the energy conglomerate PTT are developing their AI models for tasks like meeting transcription and data analysis for offshore oil rigs, indicating a move towards self-reliance in AI technology development.
