Oman and Thailand Advance Economic Ties with Strategic Business Forum in Muscat
Private sector leaders from Oman and Thailand convene to deepen trade and investment cooperation across key growth sectors
Business and government representatives from the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Thailand met in Muscat to strengthen economic cooperation and explore expanded bilateral partnerships.
The Omani-Thai Business Forum, convened by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, brought together entrepreneurs, industry leaders and officials from both countries to discuss opportunities in trade, agriculture, healthcare and beauty products, textiles, food processing and jewellery — sectors identified as having strong prospects for joint investment and market development.
Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, the chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, underlined the deepening economic relations between the two nations and the importance of building diversified and sustainable trade and investment ties that leverage Oman's strategic position as a gateway to the Gulf Cooperation Council markets.
Thai Ambassador to Oman Warunee Pan-Krajang highlighted the role of such forums in promoting direct dialogue between business communities, enabling companies to gain insight into each other’s markets and identify areas for co-development.
Delegates from Thailand included representatives from firms active in a range of industries, reflecting the private sector’s intention to expand its presence in the Omani economy.
Discussions emphasised the mutual benefits of closer integration of supply chains and increased exchange of goods and services, with participants expressing confidence that enhanced private sector cooperation can spur long-term economic growth for both nations.
The engagement follows longstanding diplomatic relations and ongoing efforts to broaden economic ties, building on a history of collaboration in trade, investment and cultural exchange.
