Thai Army Dismisses Cambodia-Linked Report as Inaccurate and One-Sided
Military leadership says assessment misrepresents facts and overlooks Thailand’s commitment to border stability and dialogue
Thailand’s army has rejected a report linked to Cambodia that it says presents a one-sided and misleading account of recent border-related issues, stressing that the assessment fails to reflect facts on the ground or Thailand’s consistent efforts to maintain stability.
Military officials said the report selectively interpreted events and omitted key context, creating an impression that does not align with verified information held by Thai authorities.
The army reiterated that Thailand has acted with restraint and professionalism, prioritising calm coordination and established mechanisms to prevent misunderstandings along the frontier.
Senior officers emphasised that cross-border engagement has continued through recognised military and diplomatic channels, aimed at preserving peace and safeguarding communities on both sides.
They also underscored Thailand’s adherence to international norms and bilateral agreements, noting that routine patrols and security measures are conducted transparently and defensively.
The army said it remains open to constructive dialogue and factual clarification, but warned that distorted narratives risk undermining confidence and cooperation.
Officials added that Thailand’s approach has consistently focused on de-escalation, information sharing and mutual respect, rejecting portrayals that suggest otherwise.
The statement comes amid heightened attention on border issues, with Thai authorities seeking to reassure the public and regional partners that the situation remains stable and well managed under clear command structures and long-standing protocols.
