The Ministry of Public Health said enhanced surveillance has been rolled out in airports, border checkpoints, popular travel hubs and healthcare facilities, allowing for faster identification and response to potential cases.

Officials stressed that the measures are precautionary and reflect Thailand’s long-standing emphasis on disease prevention, early detection and transparent communication.

Health authorities have instructed medical staff to remain vigilant for symptoms consistent with mpox, especially among international arrivals and in areas with high population mobility, while ensuring that testing capacity and isolation protocols are readily available.

The government has also reinforced public awareness efforts, providing updated guidance to hotels, tour operators and local communities in key destinations to ensure coordinated response if suspected cases arise.
