Annual Red-Cloth Ceremony at Bangkok's Golden Mount
Historic Tradition Honors Buddha’s Relics with Cultural Festivities
Thousands gathered at the Golden Mount temple in Bangkok for the annual red-cloth ceremony, a tradition over 130 years old, tracing back to King Rama V. Held during the temple fair from November 8-17, the ceremony coincides with the Loy Krathong festival in the Thai lunar calendar.
Participants believe that donning a red cloth and venerating Buddha's relics bestows good fortune and happiness.
The event also offers visitors a rich cultural experience, showcasing Thai traditions from all four regions over the course of ten days and nights.
