The city welcomes over 23 million international visitors, ranking just behind Thailand’s capital among the world’s most visited destinations
Hong Kong has firmly established itself among the world’s leading tourism hubs in 2025, securing second place in the global ranking for international arrivals and joining other major destinations such as Bangkok, London, Dubai and Paris at the top of the travel charts.
According to the latest data from Euromonitor International’s Top 100 City Destinations Index, the city received approximately 23.2 million overseas visitors this year, reflecting robust demand for its cultural attractions, business events and international connectivity.
Asia’s continued appeal as a travel destination is underscored by the dominance of regional cities in the rankings, with Hong Kong’s strong performance indicative of a broader resurgence in international travel flows.
The Thai capital of Bangkok retained the top spot with around 30.3 million international arrivals, while London followed in third place with approximately 22.7 million visitors.
Additional cities rounding out the global top ten in 2025 include Macao, Istanbul, Dubai, Mecca, Antalya, Paris and Kuala Lumpur, illustrating a geographically diverse mix of tourism powerhouses attracting millions of travelers from around the world.
Hong Kong’s rise in the rankings also mirrors its ongoing post-pandemic tourism rebound, buoyed by improved transport links, cultural festivals and a thriving hospitality sector that continues to draw visitors for both leisure and business purposes.
With destination appeal supported by world-class dining, heritage sites and major events, Hong Kong’s place among the tourism elite reflects its evolving role on the global travel stage.
