How to Visit Thailand’s ‘The White Lotus’ Resort Experience for Under One Hundred Dollars

A recent traveller describes a practical, affordable way to enjoy the iconic Four Seasons Koh Samui setting from the hit series without an extravagant budget
In Thailand this past November, a visitor to the famed Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui — the real-world backdrop for the third season of the acclaimed television series “The White Lotus” — found a way to enjoy the location’s allure for less than one hundred dollars in total.

Rather than booking an overnight stay at the resort, which can cost thousands of dollars per night, she and her group chose to dine at Koh Tai Kitchen, an open-air restaurant on the property featured in the show.

The setting offers panoramic views over the Gulf of Thailand and dishes inspired by Southern Thai cuisine.

Her three-course dinner, including shared appetizers, a main course of Thai beef curry and mango sticky rice dessert, came to roughly sixty dollars, with an optional cocktail adding to the total.

By the end of the evening — including drinks and tips — her bill remained near the one-hundred-dollar mark.

Spending less still is possible; some in her group kept costs around fifty dollars for dinner and drinks.

After dining, the group wandered to the beach and pool areas where iconic scenes from the series were filmed, sampling local drinks and soaking in the ambience where characters from the show interacted on screen.

The experience provided a taste of the luxury resort environment without the expense of a stay, illustrating how fans can partake in the so-called set-jetting trend without paying for premium accommodation.

With Thailand’s stunning scenery and the global attention drawn by the series, travellers are finding creative ways to explore filming sites and local culture affordably.

“The White Lotus” season three was shot across Bangkok, Phuket and Koh Samui, and the local tourism industry has seen increased interest from visitors seeking to follow in the footsteps of its characters.

Guests can combine modest expenses at featured locations like resort restaurants and bars with broader exploration of Thailand’s beaches, markets and other attractions to craft a memorable visit that balances iconic views with practical budget considerations.
