Join a unique charity run on Suvarnabhumi Airport's new runway before it opens!
The Airports of Thailand Plc (AOT) has announced a special event, the "3rd Runway Suvarnabhumi Charity Run," scheduled for Sunday, March 17.
This pre-opening event, set at Suvarnabhumi Airport's 3rd runway in Samut Prakan province, raises funds for medical equipment for remote hospitals and promotes physical activity. The event offers a running experience with a unique airport ambiance.
Construction of the 60-meter wide and 4,000-meter long runway started in 2020 to increase the airport's capacity from 68 to 94 flights per hour. The official runway opening is slated for July.
The charity run features three categories: a 10km mini marathon, a 5km fun run, and a 1km VIP run, with entry fees set at 800, 600, and 1,000 baht respectively.
All runners will get a race shirt, a finisher's medal, post-race food and drinks, and a chance to snap photos with aircraft and celebrities like Ann Thongprasom and others.
