Thai Police Smash Large-Scale Illegal Vape Production and Distribution Hub
A coordinated raid in central Thailand uncovers illicit factory operations, leading to multiple arrests and large seizures of banned vaping products
Thai law enforcement authorities have conducted a significant raid on an illegal vape production and distribution facility, reinforcing the government’s firm stance against the illicit electronic cigarette trade.
Officers from Thailand’s Economic Crime Suppression Division and other agencies executed a targeted operation in Bangkok’s Bang Khunthian district, uncovering a clandestine factory where banned vaping products were being manufactured and prepared for distribution across the country.
The arrest of two Chinese nationals identified as facility managers was announced, along with the detention of several migrant workers believed to have been employed at the site.
Investigators seized thousands of finished vaping devices, extensive production equipment and materials used in manufacturing, demonstrating the organised nature of the operation that contravened Thai law, which strictly prohibits the production, sale and possession of e-cigarettes.
Additional probes have revealed broader networks of illegal supply and storage facilities nationwide, with earlier and parallel actions by cyber and customs police resulting in large seizures of vaping products — including hundreds of thousands of illicit devices hidden in warehouses — as authorities intensify efforts to disrupt illicit trade channels and safeguard public health, particularly among young people.
The latest raid underscores a sustained government crackdown on the manufacture and distribution of unauthorised vaping products, aligning with national policy objectives to enforce prohibitions, reduce youth access to e-cigarettes and eliminate criminal profiteering from contraband goods.
